I was there for an aesthetic procedure and was treated by Dr. Fouquet. First of all, the rooms are perfectly clean. Friendly and modern furnishings. The food is ok. So breakfast is plentiful. One can argue about dinner. But also the sisters, regardless of whether they were on duty early / late / night. Super nice. And also right there when you ring the doorbell. Now to Dr. Fouquet, he's a super competent doctor. He knows what he's doing, it is important that you have trust. And with him you have that. Even after the operation he was there to help. Even when I had a concern, he went out of his way to act directly. And you have to give him that, because not every doctor would be like that. I have chosen the right clinic 👌⚘🌺

Dear Dr. Schmitz & Clinic Bel Etage Staff, I can’t think of the words to express my gratitude for the care I received here. My journey to travel there from the United States alone was extraordinary by itself. I want to share my experience with others, so that they can make an informed decision on whether or not they should come here for treatment. In short I will say; that if you are reading this; you will not find a more kind, caring, competent, or thoroughly skilled surgeon with the expertise you need than Dr. Andreas Schmitz. The clinic is a beautiful place of healing. The food and facilities are exceptional as well! I was in need of urgent surgical intervention for heterotrophic ossification that had formed behind my M6-C artificial disc at my cervical 6-7 level of my spine. It had progressed aggressively over the past year, and was encroaching my C6-7 nerve root and pressing against my spinal cord. I had severe shocking pain into my left middle finger and myoclonic jerks in my legs. I also had started having bladder control issues. This highly complex condition and procedure required the skill of a surgeon with experience in this type of revision surgery that is not available in the United States. I didn't want to give up; as I am a young grandmother of two beautiful grandsons; which I still wanted to have play time with, and I wanted to be able to have quality time with my wonderful husband. So, I sent my radiology images to my original surgeon, but I was denied entry to that country due to Covid travel restrictions. It was all for the best; as he wanted to proceed with removing H.O. and replacing with another M6; which I was not comfortable with, since my research led me to believe that this disc may be too mobile to place under a fusion, and a cp-ESP seemed to be a more suitable option. So, I reached out to my ADR Support forum for help. I was referred to Jamie Litrun’s TDR/ADR Support Group on Facebook. I did a search and found an interview that he did with Dr. Schmitz on You Tube. After great consideration and several assessments; I felt that God knew Dr. Schmitz was the best for this procedure. Because my ossification had attached itself to my dura mater; a spinal fluid leak had occurred, in which Dr. Schmitz has a perfected protocol to manage this complication. I truly feel had he not been my surgeon that my outcome may not have been as optimal. I don't consider myself "out-of-the-woods" as they say; as my healing and recovery are still ongoing, but overall I consider the surgery to be a success; in that we stopped the growth of ossification encroaching in to my spinal canal, which could have led to paralysis. I am scheduled for my 6 weeks post-op x-rays on Nov. 5, 2020 and will post my progress... I encourage anyone that needs spine surgery to do their research and please send your case to Dr. Schmitz for review. He gave me back some quality of life! His International Patient Coordinator, Jessica Sachs; will respond to you with his assessment and options for surgery dates. I contacted her on August 10, 2020 and was schedule for surgery by September 21, 2020. She will assist you with all the documentation you need to travel with. She is such a wonderful person! The team around the doctor Andreas Schmitz is very competent. From the first consultation to my discharge, I felt very well looked after and I wasn't put off by the sometimes bad reviews here. The accommodation on the comfort ward is good, and the staff I met with were absolutely friendly. The food is a dream! I can recommend this clinic to everyone.

The nursing staff from anesthesia to the wards so so so lovely. I felt incredibly comfortable here and when something happened, they were always there. In addition, totally attentive. Simply great!

Friendly, competent and sensitive On July 2nd, 2020 I met Dr. med Hüseyin Senyurt for a consultation, he was recommended to me by a good friend who was treated there himself. I drove almost 200 km to the clinic and I can only say that every km was worth it. The staff welcomed me warmly and the ambience was nice and simple. After 2 consultations with other doctors, I was still unsure and decided on the last one. I would like to be operated on by a doctor whom I trust and with whom I feel that I am in good hands. Senyurt from the first to the last minute. Dr. Senyurt is very polite and empathetic, he was really able to answer all my questions in an understandable manner and took away my fear and gave me hope. I can have a consultation with Dr. Only recommend Senyurt! I hope that I can get an appointment as soon as possible so that I can finally walk again without pain and regain my joie de vivre. The following situation: after a metatarsal bone fracture, I was told in the clinic that I MUST have my foot operated on. So we decided to get a second opinion: Dr. Senyurt disagreed and based the x-rays on why and showed them, which unfortunately was not the case in the hospital. He mentioned that he would only intervene on patients if he also operated on his wife or daughter in the event of such a fracture. This is not about money, but about competent and human advice on a familiar basis! Really great !! Nice that there are still doctors who really want something good for the health and recovery of others and that without any intervention!

I really enjoyed my stay in the clinic due to an aesthetic operation. The premises were well-kept and clean, the doctors were excellent and the care was nice. I noticed very positively a night nurse, she was a little dark-skinned and had dark curly hair, many thanks to you for your great and professional care!

I would not recommend this hospital. Carpeting in the lounge area is unsanitary and can cause tripping. The ladies unfriendly when recording and anything but accommodating. My room was still not ready even after the operation. Cleaning was done only with a rag including the bathroom. Food was so-so. Buns were very hard and the food went that way. The sisters were all very nice, there is nothing to say. I am not used to this as a private patient.

For me, Dr. Andreas Schmitz simply the best neurosurgeon. Professionally as well as humanly. I have known Mr. Schmitz for 8 years now. He has operated on me several times now on the HWS, LWS and ISG and every operation was a great success. It doesn't get any better. Everything went smoothly and I was on my feet quickly after every operation. I no longer needed strong pain relievers that had previously caused me major problems. This time he operated on me in his Bel Etage clinic in Düsseldorf. I have to say, I have never seen anything so great from a clinic. And I know many hospitals as a patient. The care is super friendly, all sisters very loving and helpful. The catering is without exception good. Visits and physio several times a day. After 4 days and 2 days after surgery I can go home today without any problems. My severe pain was gone immediately after the operation. I am infinitely happy and thank Dr. Schmitz and everyone involved with all my heart.

It was exactly one day ago to the day ... when I was operated on at the cervical spine. I can only recommend this clinic to everyone. Thanks to the entire team!!!! Stay alive and well, you are great !!!!!!!!!!!!

From admission to discharge a total wrong decision! The consultation in the consultation very nice but purposeful, this is to bring the prostheses to the patient. The staff on the station were very nice. The rooms nice and high quality furnishings. Then it was already. I feel worse today than before the operation. My LWS burns like fire, Mr. Schmitz played everything down, doctors in my area can not help with. What Hr Schmitz is very good at is talking, letting patients feel safe! Create trust, it does not succeed for the patient, he is the first who is gone! His homepage we looked through. It's raised on the foreign market, come, leave money and go, best not see you again. I am unable to work because of the Op in his house. My doctors say I should apply for early retirement. Nobody cares in Düsseldorf there!

Speechless / helpless! Also we have nothing positive to report about this private clinic. We made an appointment with the neurosurgeon Mr. A.Schmitz in the consultation. My wife had severe problems with the cervical spine, Mr. A. Schmidt said the herniated disc would be dangerous since he was well advanced. The Mrt pictures would clearly show that. A prosthesis would be a great way to maintain flexibility in the segment. The OP reconnaissance he did right then we would have said that away. We asked for complications, how often, how often, he said all the listed very rarely or not at all! We got a surgery appointment quickly, are private patients. The recording on station a total disaster, we sat over 4 hours in the waiting area. The room was great from the decor. The ladies are very nice. Before the Op we did not see Mr. A. Schmitz anymore. After the Op, my wife then had very heavy swallowing and voice problems. An ENT doctor looked at the 2 days after the Op, he said that the vocal cords would be offended, it would be. On the third day my wife was released, we asked for the discharge report, it was said that would be sent by mail. The bill we received pretty quickly. The Op is now almost 1 year ago, the problems with the swallow and your voice have remained. Some appointments at the ENT doctor as well as the speech therapist did not help much. What has come to light, the larynx does not close properly anymore. Hence, these bad dysphagia. We have called there several times, it has always been called, we will inform Mr Schmitz he will contact you. Nothing was on it! We have sent many e-mails to this clinic, he has not responded yet! We just have the feeling that this is just about cash. The food was very poor from the crowd. In the evening 2 dry slices of bread. The bed was not made 1 time in the time. The physiotherapists were present daily. According to the motto: We have to get the patient fast, we need the bed. Our conclusion would be: If you have a good neurosurgeon / orthopedist specializing in aftercare in your area, If, in the event of complications due to a spinal surgery in this clinic, you no longer wish to have a contact person in the clinic through the doctor mentioned, Then you are in good hands here. We can not recommend this clinic because of the mentioned problem. We will inform the medical association.

I have been very satisfied. The sisters are all very nice and rush straight to the rescue. The rooms are very nice, modern and clean. The food is great and not comparable to regular clinic food by the portions more than adequate, my husband has always eaten.

Unfortunately I can not report anything good. You get out of the surgery completely sober and hungry and have to beg for food. Still, you get a few spoonfuls of soup in front of your nose, while the roommate gets a huge bowl full of soup. Of course I did not get full, so I had to order a second "portion" soup. Again, the bowl was just half full. But I had to pay the soup twice, my room mate, who had the bowl from the outset, only once. Even so, I always had to tell my request to several sisters, because no one felt responsible. So it was not a pleasant stay at all and I can not recommend this private clinic. The lady at the front desk is anything but friendly. She has a very strange and unsympathetic nature and you realize right that she has no desire at all. Awful.

After 3 endlessly painful years, Dr. Schmitz convinced me to have my two BSV operated on in the cervical spine and to use implants. Now, a good 8 weeks after surgery, I'm just great. I've lived on all kinds of painkillers for 3 years, which I do not need now, after the operation. I would immediately put my trust in this excellent doctor. Many thanks also to the super cute sisters and of course to the ladies who make almost everything possible in terms of food, even if you can hardly swallow

Whether sisters or doctor, there is nothing better without being too exaggerated !!!!!! Have 2 implants in the cervical make otherwise I would have landed in a wheelchair ... and lo and behold, no more pain and the wheelchair was spared me .. .I do not think you have to say more .... 😊

Well, I am here for the first time today and I am currently sitting with appointment almost 2 hours and waaarte ... and waaarte and have involuntary time to read 4 newspapers and write this Kririk ... Time management is NOT the strength this private clinic!
